  • Coconut or blanched almond flour (1/2 cup)
  • Boiling water (8 tablespoons)
  • Oil

  • Paprika (1/2 tablespoon)
  • Xanthan gum or Konjac powder (3tablespoons)

Instructions:

  • Take a bowl and add your coconut flour or almond flour depending upon which one are you choosing to make your fries.
  • Add in your xanthan gum and season it with paprika and salt according to your taste. Don’t forget to mix all the ingredients nicely.
  • Throw in the hot water in the bowl and mix it thoroughly with a spatula and after everything is combined, get in with your hand to knead and make it into a soft dough.
  • The dough should be soft and not hard. After that let the dough sit for about 10 to 12 minutes so that it can rise.
  • After that take the dough and place it on a baking sheet of paper. Don’t forget to roll it out evenly.
  • Once the dough is rolled out evenly, take a sharp knife and start cutting the dough in the shape of French fries.
  • You do not have to be perfect in this step but make sure that you don’t end up cutting very broad pieces.
  • Once the entire dough is cut, prepare a pan with oil.
  • Make sure that the oil is hot before putting in the French fries so that they do not stick to each other.
  • Wait till the fries turn golden brown. Keep on rotating them in the pan itself so that they do not end up burning.
  • If you do not want to use oil, these can be made in the oven also wherein all you have to do is place the cut fried on a baking tray wherein the baking sheet is already greased with oil.
  • Bake for about 12-15 minutes with the oven already preheated to 200 degrees Celsius.
