- Lie comfortably on your back (don’t use a pillow)
- Bent your knees with the sole of your feet resting on the floor or the bed
- Open your mouth as much as you can and then slowly close it while resisting the close

- Hold that smile and take your head gently up and down
- Do it 7-10 times
2. Straight Jaw Jut

- Tilt your head as far back as you can comfortably
- Push the lower jaw forward (you should feel a stretch under your chin)
- Count till 10 to hold the position
- Relax the jaw and return to your natural position
- Do it 10 times
3. Tongue Press
Another do-it-anywhere routine, this can be done even when others are watching.
- Take your tongue and press it to the roof of your mouth
- Tilt your head back and forth
- Do it 5 times. That is 1 set
- Now, do 3 sets of this.
4. Tongue Out
Sticking our tongue out is a common thing we all did in our childhood (remember those doctor visits?). But, when you do this now, it’s more careful and aimed at losing fat around our neck and chin (as opposed to teasing your best friend in school).
- Open your mouth as wide as you can
- Put your tongue out as far as you can
- Stay like that for a few seconds
- Slowly return to normal
- Repeat this 10-15 times
5. Pucker Up
This one is almost like the tongue press except that it doesn’t involve the tongue but those pretty lips of yours.
- Tilt your head and look at the ceiling
- Pucker up like you were blowing a kiss to that lonely ceiling
- Feel the stretch on your chin
- Hold for 3-5 seconds, then lose the pucker and bring your head to normal
- Do it 10 times
6. Roll that Neck
You probably do this every time your neck feels stiff of sitting in front of your laptop too long. But, did you know that the classic neck roll also helps lose fat on your neck as well as on your double chin.
- Stand (or sit) with your upper body upright and spine straight
- Deeply inhale and rotate your head to the right side until your chin touches your right shoulder
- Now, gently rotate your neck downwards so that the chin touches your chest
- Bring the neck to original position and repeat the above steps on the left side
- Repeat 10-15 times
7. Chin Slap
Not a real slap that hurts you, the chin slap is a gentle way of exercising those extra inches off your double chin.
- Bring your face forward and without being too harsh, slap the chin with the dorsal side
- Do it repeatedly for 30 to 40 seconds

8. Eat Healthy

- Avoid junk food, excess sugar and salt; and fast and fried food item (Sorry! KFC).
- Include veggies, lean meat, whole cereals, fruits, and vegetable to your diet

- Keep yourself well-hydrated
9. Sleep Properly
One of the major causes of bloating is lack of proper sleep. When you are sleep deprived, your body produces a stress hormone called Cortisol that has several side effects, including weight gain. As an adult, you must sleep 7-8 hours every night.
10. Wheat Germ Oil
Wheat Germ oil comprises Vitamin E which not only nourishes your skin but also helps in toning it.
- Take a little wheat germ oil and massage it over your neck and chin in an upward motion
- Do this for 5-10 minutes and leave the oil overnight
- Repeat every day
11. Green Tea
The benefits of drinking green tea can’t be stressed enough. In fact, the presence of antioxidants in green tea is often known to help in complete weight loss. For best results, drink green tea at least twice or thrice a day. And, drink the first cup preferably early morning on an empty stomach.
- Boil water in a tea kettle
- Dip a green tea bag or add a teaspoon of loose green tea to the hot water
- Steep 5 minutes and strain
- Add a teaspoon of honey for better results (and taste)
12. Vitamin E
If you do not have access to wheat germ oil, the easiest is to get some Vitamin E capsules from your nearest pharmacy – they are available easily.
- Take 2-3 Vitamin E capsules and extract the oil in a spoon
- Apply it evenly to the upper neck and jaw
- Massage firmly a few minutes and leave it overnight
13. Chew Gum
I know it’s not the healthiest advice, but I guess you can get some sugar free gums. Chewing a gum is an easy and quick remedy to fight a double chin. But, don’t keep a gum for too long in your mouth. Do this for half hour in the morning and in the evening.
14. Get a massage
We all like our monthly facial and mani-pedi sessions, don’t we? Only this time, ask your beauty therapist to focus on your neck and double chin; and massage the affected area firmly to improve blood circulation and rid you of all the extra fat.
