Apple Pie Bars Recipe for Dessert, Lunch and Dinner

Some guests are coming and want to serve them something delicious and new to them, then you can try apple pie bar. Don’t worry it’s very easy to make it ready in just 1.5 hours. You can enjoy this dish on weekends too when you want to enjoy your lunch with your whole family.

Ingredients for Apple Filling

  • Medium sized chopped cubed apples – 550 g  or 4 to 4½ cups
  • Granulated sugar 30 g or 2 tbsp
  • All-purpose flour – 25 g  or 2 tbsp and 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice – 2 tsp
  • Ground cinnamon -1 tsp
  • Ground nutmeg – ¼ tsp

Ingredients for Crust & Crumbles

  • All-purpose flour – 280 g  or 2 cups
  • Unsalted butter – 185 g  or ¾ cup and 1 tbsp
  • Granulated sugar – 105 g  or ½ cup
  • Ground cinnamon – 1 tsp


  • First we have to make our oven ready. Preheat the microwave oven to temperature around 350°F.
  • Now take one 20 cm square shaped microwave oven proof dish and grease it.
  • Now line the sides and bottom with parchment papers. Overhand parchment papers on each side.
  • Wash apple and then peel it.
  • Now and core and slice it into small pieces.
  • Now take a medium size bowl and place chopped apples on it.
  • Now toss chopped apples with sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, flour or corn starch and nutmeg.
  • Now keep this bowl aside.
  • Now take a big bowl and add ingredient written under Crust & Crumbles i.e. 280 grams of all-purpose flour, 185 grams of unsalted butter, 105 gram of granulated sugar, 1 tsp of ground cinnamon and mix it well.
  • Now add cold cubed butter in it and cover it with the ready flour mixture kept in a big bowl.
  • Now with the help of folk mix it. Mix it in a way that It looks like bread crumbs.
  • You can use a pastry blender too to mix it or if u don’t have this u can mix it with your fingertips.
  • Now take 2/3 of the mixture and spread it on an ovenproof dish with a spoon. Don’t forget to lightly flour the spoon so that you can assemble ingredients easily.
  • Now add a layer of apple mixture and cover it.
  • Now spread 1/3 of dough and cover the apples.
  • If you want you can make big crumbles with your hands. You just squeeze the dough and make it.
  • And now bake the mixture for around 55 minutes. When the top of mixture turns golden brown and crumbles looks crunchy turn off the oven.
  • Take out of the microwave oven and let it cool down completely.
  • After 1.5 hours when it cools up to room temperature, keep in the freezer to cool down faster.
  • When it cools down lift the parchment paper from the dish and remove the bar on a plate.
  • Now cut into desired shape and size.

Your apple pie bars recipe is ready to serve.  You can store these in airtight containers for up to 4 days. If you want to store it for a long time then freeze it.
